Ryan Lemone

Research Assistant

BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in CT, and graduated from MIT with my BS in aerospace engineering in May 2024. During undergrad, I interned at SpaceX, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and L3Harris, focusing on aero, thermal, & fluids analysis. Outside of work, I am involved with MIT’s Catholic community and shotgun team, I weightlift, and I play bass in a rock/metal band.

RESEARCH

Designing a High Turbulence Level Generator

Past experimental studies on turbines largely use turbulence grids to simulate combustor exit flow, which have been found to not achieve the high levels of turbulence found in real combustors. This project seeks to develop how to effectively generate high levels of turbulence for use in experiments such as these, enabling future research on combustor-turbine interactions and beyond.
